CNN Money explains that Goldstein had some help from Steve Huffman, Reddit co-founder, when doing this new program. The site is user-friendly and has many colors, making Goldstein a genius within the site business.
Hipmunk is a huge change to travel
Flights are easy to see with the color Hipmunk adds to the list of flights. Hipmunk just launched this week, but tech industry reviews are glowing. As outlined by TechCrunch, “When you see the results you’ll never want to see flight results in any other format.” The team spent a lot of time on how the look of Hipmunk is perceived, which is said by Lifehacker to be “fantastic” which pleases Goldstein. There’s no clutter of text and buttons, just a color-coded arrangement of airlines. Searchers and effortlessly zoom in on a preferred within the grid at any time for additional info.
Winging it with ‘a small, cute animal and a good logo’
Goldstein and Huffman met with numerous online flight booking sites before settling on a deal with Orbitz, one of one of the most popular online travel aggregators. Hipmunk would like more ideas on how to improve as it is evolving. Issues like expanding search functions and monetizing the site in ways that don’t bombard users with spam are on Goldstein’s agenda. There’s going to be added functions. These will consist of hotels and auto rentals. Adding more content might make the amazing design of Hipmunk go down a bit. It is much less frustrating to search for a flight now though.
